Link Love

Before I began blogging, I knew nothing about it. I’m not exaggerating. I didn’t even read other people’s blogs. I didn’t look for them or at them. I was totally and completely removed from the blogging world. How did I get here? Hm.

I wonder, too.

Basically, I’d written a bunch of stuff (which you can read here, here, and other places as well if you want) and didn’t know how to fit all of it into the book I’d initially envisioned for myself. So I Googled blog options and ended up using WordPress.org to make Finding Ninee happen. I love their simple look and the ease with which I can ignorantly contribute to my own content. I don’t love that I’m completely fumbling when it comes to knowing how to do much here. I’m HTML illiterate. I’m a blog novice. And I found out only NOW that perhaps my host of choice was designed for those in the blogging population who are much smarter and hipper and more informed than I am.
Does this post have a point?

You wonder.

It does! It does, indeed! Once I started getting stuck, I reached out and found out that there are a shitton of awesome blogesses and bloggers out there. Like, MANY. One that I found is Love that Max. Max’s mom does this thing each week where sister/fellow bloggers can submit their favorite posts of the week. I LOVE THIS. And each time I participate, I find a new friend or two.

So, of course I wanted to do the same, here. Finding Ninee is, after all, supposed to be a village of US. You, me, them. All of us. And I’ll skip the whiney blither about how horribly hard it was for me to figure this out and instead just say this:

Hello, Link Love!

Do you want to share a link to a favorite blog post of yours? Coolawesomefantabulous! Well, unless it’s totally icky, or about something completely inappropriate (and I’m not referring to crude humor or drunk mommies), link up here! I think it’ll be fun. And know this. I’m watching. Spammers and horrible people, I will delete your asses so fast that you will be wondering if you fell off a cliff. Just saying.

To participate, just put the name of your blog where it says “your name.” Then, put a direct link to the post where it says “your URL.” I’m not sure if it matters, but I always use the http://www._____ format. I recommend you do the same. Just in cast the http://www matters.

Happy linkie love, all.

  • Sara - Can we only leave a link to our own blog or can we link someone else’s blog that had a particularly good piece?November 25, 2012 – 1:42 pmReplyCancel

    • admin - Sara, I don’t see why you couldn’t link somebody’s blog that has a good piece. As long as you think he/she won’t mind (maybe send them a comment that you’re doing it). Plus, as you can see, my dreams for this particular party leave me alone with my cake. Sniffle, sniffle.November 25, 2012 – 6:11 pmReplyCancel

  • admin - Hi, to the author of “I can say mama” – tried to comment on your blog but had problems with the site verification codes (I tried 6 or 7 times and it kept telling me that it was incorrect). I think there might be an issue there. Anyway, wanted to say THANK YOU and I love your post. Very well said. You are so right that developmental delay means everything and nothing. I linked to you from my post today so I hope you’ll see lots of traffic! Best wishes.November 26, 2012 – 12:52 pmReplyCancel

    • Joy - Hey Kristi,
Thank you for your time and effort to try and comment. I just tried it and had no problems, although it was not easy to read. Anyway, as I like my readers to comment I turned off the site verification codes. Now you can hop over and say hi if you like to!
I am so glad that you liked my post! Thank you for sharing it!
I will read your blog within the next days (luckily, your blog is quite new, too! 😉 ). I think there is a lot in here that I will like, too!November 26, 2012 – 4:49 pmReplyCancel

        • admin - I know! Honestly, sometimes I think I shouldn’t be allowed to have a blog because I’m totally inept at doing things like that! But I’ll work on it. Or just create a page…hmm…November 29, 2012 – 10:41 amReplyCancel
