Mommy is a Napkin

Like the good mom that I am, I make Tucker a hot breakfast each morning.  Well, pretty much every morning.  Some days he gets cereal and fruit.  Oh, and that one day, he had Oreos.  But, whatever, today was a hot breakfast day.  While I was slaving in the kitchen, my adorable sweet boy came up behind me and gave me a huge hug.  I love when he does this.  Except for today.  Because today, he was not expressing his love for me.  Today, he needed to wipe his nose. My sweet “ooh and ahh” moment became an “eww and ach” moment.  I have become Tucker’s napkin.  Whether he has cream cheese, milk, or juice on his hands, or has picked his nose, he wipes it on me.  And apparently, sometimes it’s easier to walk up behind me and rub his nose (for a long while) on my shirt.  Gotta give the kid credit for saving a step.  At least I still got the hug.

Would you think less of me if I were to admit that by the time I fed Tucker and got things cleaned up and him ready to go to school, I’d forgotten about the booger on my back? Because he’s just a little guy, each morning I walk him to the front of the school where one of his teachers meets him.  Which means I walk past all of the kiss-n-ride cars, parents, kids and teachers.  Today I did so with a giant greenish smear on my back.  Yay, me.
