My Pantry

Tucker used to fit in the pantry so easily.  Aww…just look!
Tuckerinpantry

Looking at this photo brings back so many wonderful memories.  Memories of Tucker learning to play hide-and-seek.  Memories of his “Boob Man” shirt he wore back when he was still young enough for it to be funny (let’s face it, that shit now would be downright creepy).

Memories of a clean, empty pantry.

Ah, those days…

Yeah.  Because if Hoarders ever branches out and does a spin-off featuring toddler hoarders, we’re SO in.  THIS embarrassment is what passes as my pantry today:

pantry

How am I still ahead of the game?  Because there are no toys in my refrigerator.

Note: The trucks and airplanes featured in the above photo, along with the 1,283 other toys strewn about my house have inspired us to book a children’s charity pick-up later this week.  I’m going to have to go stealth on collecting for them, though, because if my greedy little dude even suspects I’m giving away some cheap piece of plastic that he hasn’t touched in two years, he’ll cry real tears.  Changing your ways is hard, people.  That’s why they have programs and stuff.

  • Henriette - Lol! I’m speech less! That shit is out of control! My pantry is a mess, ( I’m on it!!! Ordered lot of pretty stuff from C&B today so I can make it all pretty and organized! ) but at least it’s like real food and shit! 😉
You know my neighbor is working for Discovery Channel and her best friend is producing honey boo boo. I might be able to get you that spin off! 😉January 19, 2013 – 9:34 pmReplyCancel

    • admin - Yeah, yeah, Henriette, glad to know that everybody else is more organized than I am with actually having food in her pantry! There is a top 1/2 that’s filled with food, does that count?? No? Shit. I suck. Raising a hoarder.

So, yes, please tell your neighbor’s best friend that we have a toddler hoarder and he’s happy to be the cute face to the underlying problem. We’ll give you a cut of our earnings…January 19, 2013 – 11:43 pmReplyCancel

      • Henriette - TLC bringing you….drumroll… “Toddler hoarders; Tucker boo boo” 🙂January 20, 2013 – 10:35 amReplyCancel

  • Mama Meerkat - Periodically I do find toys in my refrigerator! They are everywhere!January 19, 2013 – 9:47 pmReplyCancel

    • admin - OMG thank you for admitting that toys CAN be in the refrigerator. Whew.January 19, 2013 – 11:44 pmReplyCancel

  • Marcia - Wow look at those eyes! What handsome baby you made. I was laughing hard at the hoarder comment and how he would cry real tears.January 19, 2013 – 11:26 pmReplyCancel

    • admin - Aw thanks! And he would. Totally.cry.real.tears. Really.January 19, 2013 – 11:44 pmReplyCancel

  • Marcia - Oh and the no toys in your refrigerator was funny.January 19, 2013 – 11:27 pmReplyCancel

  • Joy - Sunny and I are hoarders, too (I am ashamed to admit it, but it is true) and my husband gets crazy about it from time to time. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! 🙂January 20, 2013 – 4:39 amReplyCancel

    • admin - Thanks Joy! Glad it’s not just us. Still – I’ve already started to gather stuff up for Thursday’s pickup. Just need to keep the bags hidden from you-know-who.January 20, 2013 – 10:26 amReplyCancel

  • Misty @ Meet the Cottons - lol. love the comments. please let me know if you get your own reality show. we are hooked on honey boo boo. i do stay away from hoarders, though! i don’t want to get any ideas!January 20, 2013 – 3:48 pmReplyCancel

    • admin - Ha! I’ve actually never watched either one – I limit my TV addictions to the cable shows and already have just enough to keep up with. 🙂January 20, 2013 – 6:00 pmReplyCancel

      • Misty - You have to watch Honey Boo Boo at least once just to see what the hoopla is all about!January 20, 2013 – 7:12 pmReplyCancel

        • admin - Ok I will. But if I get hooked, I’m totally blaming you.January 20, 2013 – 7:14 pmReplyCancel

  • Stephanie @ Mommy, for real. - OMG, that is too funny…You know, with a pantry like that, you should really link up with Monday Listicles tomorrow, as the theme is “10 Things In My Closet”. Get to work.

Oh, is it tacky for me to respond to a previous commentversation (see what I did there?) we had here on this post? I was afraid if I finally replied on my own comment thread, you would never see it. To answer your question about whether you should change the grandma comment on your FITL bio, hell no! It’s funny, not distracting! (Sorry it took me like a week. I forgot.)January 20, 2013 – 10:16 pmReplyCancel

    • admin - HA. I’ll forgive you for not responding and blame it on myself that I checked every hour every day until bedtime tonight to see whether I should change it…
KIDDING. You’ll probably never see this one, either. But <3
And shit. Monday List-what-ya-calls? Hopefully...although tomorrow is a school holiday and hubs is out of town this week. OUCH...January 20, 2013 – 11:54 pmReplyCancel

  • One Funny Motha - Aww, he’s cute & he still fits. TALU Wink.January 22, 2013 – 10:18 pmReplyCancel

    • admin - Ha, I guess so…if you count him being a hoarder as “fitting” then, yay, us!January 22, 2013 – 11:43 pmReplyCancel

  • Kenya G. Johnson - LOL!!! Wow. I hope by now you’ve made some progress for tomorrow. Christopher and I really need to go through his toy box. It’s the reason why his room is junky. It used to be a joint effort but we missed last year. Tucker is so cute in the cabinet. That’s a priceless photo.April 27, 2013 – 12:30 amReplyCancel

    • Kristi - Aww, thank you! And cleaning out the toy box is NEVER fun. Sigh.April 27, 2013 – 4:12 pmReplyCancel
