Here’s a bit about Applied Behavioral Management (ABA), which is what Tucker’s amazing teachers use at pre-school.

Tucker was found to be atypical during his speech and language evaluations, mainly because his ability to understand receptive language (what we say to him) is within the normal range for children his age.  It’s his expressive language (what he says to us) that isn’t typical.  Here’s a great site on language development in general.  If you’re curious as to how preschool language disorders are evaluated, this page summarizes what a speech-language pathologist will look for.

I also think Tucker has apraxia, and, in my research, I came across this site, which helped me understand it.
